1) Omni has to be configured and wired as per Omni’s technical bulletin TB-980404B:

2) When Acquire loses communication to the duty flow computers but both flow computers are still functioning correctly, Acquire will write 1 to 2715 to the standby flow computer to make it the master.

When the communication link with the previous duty flow computer comes back online, the current duty flow computer will remain master.

The status can be manually switched to "slave" mode by writing 1 to 2716 and writing 1 to 2715 on the former duty flow computer to put it to "master" mode.

3) When the duty flow computer fails, the standby flow computer will become "master" and Acquire will switch the status accordingly without writing any values to the flow computers.

Duty / Standby is also known as peer to peer or redundancy.
